Although the mother of James Irvine is given as Elizabeth Bryson rather than Grassom, all the other details are correct and match the ages in the 1891 Census entry. The error is probably due to the recorder mishearing the name.
NOTE:  Kate was called Catherine in the 1891 Census.

The following information was supplied by a relative on Kate’s side:
James and Kate Irvine emigrated to New Zealand circa 1890.
Lived in Dunedin, Otago, NZ.
Had no children
James died March 11, 1928, age 63, Wingatui, Otago.
Kate died in Otago, NZ and is probably buried in Mosgiel, just outside of Dunedin.
