Dick McClure arrived in Australia in 1904 and he helped pioneer NSW in 1907, along with John Hardie.

He was one of eight workers who left Liverpool,
Engand on the SS Orwestry Grange on Nov. 13, 1906,
arriving in Wellington, NZ on Jan. 30, 1907.

Later in life, he left the Work in 1913, married and had five children.
