John & Jane Corcoran Family
In 1875, John Joseph Corcoran (abt. 1848-1929) married Jane Anne Atkinson (abt. 1855-1936).
John was a farmer and they lived in “Finnoe House,” Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.
Their ten surviving children were (in birth order:
Kate, Sallie, Tom, Jack/John, William/Bill, James/Jim, Lydia, George, May and Ida.

In 1897, William Irvine held a mission in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, Ire. where some Corcoran
children professed (Kate, her husband John Swanton and Jack); also Jack & May Carroll.

In 1898, Irvine held a mission in nearby Borrisokane, and Mother Jane
and more children professed (Lydia, Jim and probably Bill Corcoran). Father John professed in 1906.

At least 4 of John and Jane Corcoran's children went in the work: Sallie, Jack, Bill & James.
Two are shown on the 1905 Worker's list, earliest known workers list (Sallie & Jack)
The 1901 Ireland Census showed they attended Church of Ireland.
In their Early Days, up until 1903, workers
encouraged their converts to attend the church of their choice.
